Ask where to play golf in New York and you get simulators. The city itself runs 13 golf courses, and nobody lists them by the train that gets you there.

Somewhere to hit a bucket
Driving ranges and golf centers at Alley Pond in Queens, Turtle Cove in the Bronx, Flushing Meadows Corona Park, and Randall's Island.
The city tells you how to get to four of them, in its own words
- Mosholu: the 4 to the last stop, Woodlawn Road.
- Kissena: the 7 to Main Street, then the Q65 bus. Or the E to Parsons Boulevard and the same bus.
- Douglaston: the F to Jamaica at 169th Street, then the Q-17A.
- Flushing Meadows Corona Park Golf Center: walk down the Passarelle Ramp from Willets Point station.

Why it matters
A round at a city course is not a simulator hour, and it is not priced like one. If you have a Saturday and a MetroCard, this is the cheapest golf in New York.
